UNIBA Madura Celebrates Its 6th Anniversary with an Inter-Agency Futsal Exhibition, Polres Sumenep Team Receives Special Recognition

NEWS DIMADURA, SUMENEP – Universitas Bahauddin Mudhary (UNIBA) Madura marked its 6th anniversary by hosting a Futsal Exhibition, bringing together various partner Regional Government Organisations (OPD). The event took place on Wednesday, 18 December 2024, at GOR Ahmad Dahlan UNIBA Madura, where the Polres Sumenep team stole the spotlight with their solid performance.

The competition was enlivened by the participation of RSUD dr. H. Moh. Anwar Sumenep, the Sumenep Regency Government, the Sumenep District Attorney’s Office, the Sumenep District Court, and several other institutions.

The knockout system employed in the tournament intensified the matches, showcasing a high level of sportsmanship among the participants.

Throughout the matches, the Polres Sumenep futsal team displayed a strong tactical approach. Before securing the championship title, they first had to face fierce resistance from the RSUD dr. H. Moh. Anwar Sumenep futsal team in a high-tempo game.

“Both teams attacked and created chances. However, the Polres Sumenep futsal team managed to control the game,” said UNIBA Madura Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Rachmad Hidayat, MT., IPU., ASEAN, Eng, during a press conference on Wednesday morning (12/3/2025).

As a token of appreciation for their achievement, the Polres Sumenep futsal team received special recognition from UNIBA Madura, including financial coaching support, a certificate of appreciation, and a one-year free training facility.

Additionally, team members wishing to pursue higher education at UNIBA Madura were granted a full four-year scholarship.

The Rector of UNIBA Madura praised the Polres Sumenep team’s performance, stating that they met the standards of a quality competition. “They played with excellent technique and outstanding enthusiasm. This reflects the calibre of athletes ready to compete,” remarked Rector Rachmad.

The tournament’s enthusiasm was further highlighted by the attendance of the Sumenep Police Chief, who personally came to watch the matches. His unexpected presence exceeded the organisers’ expectations and demonstrated strong support for sports within UNIBA Madura’s partner institutions.

Polres Sumenep futsal team representative, Bripda Tri Rendi Tegar Arifin, shared that initially, their team participated just to enjoy the game without high expectations. “Unexpectedly, we received exceptional facilities and recognition. This has been a tremendous motivation for us,” he stated.

Beyond the victory, the opportunity for a year of free training at GOR UNIBA Madura added significant value to the Polres Sumenep team. With this facility, they are optimistic about continuously improving their skills and team cohesion.

Given the success of this tournament, UNIBA Madura plans to make it an annual programme, strengthening collaboration with key partners such as the district attorney’s office, the district and religious courts, PT Garam, as well as regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) and banks, including BTN, BRI, and BPRS.

“Going forward, we aim to enhance partnerships with our stakeholders through positive activities like this. We plan to host a similar competition again this December,” stated the Rector of UNIBA Madura.

With the success of the UNIBA Madura 6th Anniversary Futsal Exhibition, this event is expected to continue serving as a platform for fostering inter-agency relations while promoting sports development in Sumenep.***
